The Fizz: Me TIme

So as you may or may not have noticed I was kind of MIA from this little blog for the past week or so. I don't really know why but for some reason I was just totally unmotivated to work on it and just really wanted a week to myself.  I was just super burnt out for some reason and just craving some me time - does that ever happen to you?

While I love having my blog, sometimes it's just so much work and it gets to be really overwhelming  at times.  Lately its just been really hard to juggle my social calendar, my regular job, working out and this blog, so I decided to just take a week off.  It was really nice to be able to sleep in, read and go out to fun dinners - without having to deal with working on my blog before and/or after my day.

Even though I took full advantage of my little break, I really did miss my blog - it really is such a fun creative outlet to have and I love the blogging community.  I just really need to get better at balancing everything, since I can't keep on burning the candle at both ends - nothing will be great if I do this.

How do you balance everything in your life - seriously need some tips here!

  1. Me time is necessary for everyone. I really can't function unless I take a day or two off here and there to just lay around in PJs, not have to worry about work, and binge watch Netflix. My schedule isn't as packed as yours, but for me, balance comes when I schedule. I allocate times for blog work (comments/emails in the morning, write a post at night) and school work. I hope you are feeling re-energized and refreshed! xx

  2. I know what you mean and I can't imagine what it will be like this summer when I will want to be outside instead of inside working on the blog!!! For me, I like to pre-write a few posts out so that I have them on hand on days when I don't feel inspired - that helps me!

  3. I get like that every once in awhile. It helps I think atleast to have blog posts for certain days of the week. I always do a dinner and a movie post for Thursday. That way I know what I need to write about and I'm not left with writer's block. But I do know blogging is exhausting. Especially if you also work a full time job. You want to post daily, comment on other blogs, reply back to comments on your blog, and try to maintain your normal life too. It really is a second job in itself! We all get like how you're feeling though. Blogging starts out as fun and exciting and at times can be a hassle especially if you have other stuff going on. But I still love it!

  4. I've been feeling like that all week - just tired, uninspired, and wondering (somewhat) why I would subject myself to waking up hours before the sun just to work on the blog. BUT, then I remember the community I've found through blogging, and how much I value the creativity and inspiration of other bloggers. I think you did just the right thing - take a few days (or maybe weeks), recharge, and then come back feeling refreshed! xo

  5. I can completely relate, sometimes you just really need to recoil and be with yourself, because even the most (seemingly) trivial things can become overwhelming. I personally get very easily overwhelmed, and ''dropping everything'' is often the best solution. It doesn't mean you have stopped caring or are giving up!

  6. I completely agree girl. It's so tough to juggle all of these things. Sometimes I feel completely overwhelmed too. And I try to take the weekends for myself to not blog but I always end up doing blog stuff over the weekend any way. Sometimes it's hard to feel inspired to write something when you're just so burnt out on it :( Hopefully your break allowed you to recharge some! If you find a good way to balance everything let me know! :)

  7. We all need a little time away to be inspired again. Nothing wrong with that- people will wait and return for great content. Enjoy your breaks! :)

  8. I don't have a full-time job and find it hard sometimes. You're forgiven and completely justified for taking breaks. :)

You know it sounds like you just needed a break! Preparing and writing posts is a lot of work and I think just like any job, a holiday is needed once in a while. It also allows you to step back get some fresh ideas and inspiration flowing. I'm all for it!

  10. I totally noticed and yes you definitely have to have some down time for yourself! I hope you enjoyed it and cannot wait for you to start back up!

  11. We missed you!! But I totally understand - blogging is not just creating posts. It is answering comments, commenting on other people's blogs, coming up with new and creative ideas, social media, etc! It is hard to balance it all with a full time job and an actual life. I think it is always a necessity to take "me" time. You can't do your best until you feel your best! :) We are all here to support you!

  12. it is a balance that is for sure and sometimes it means taking a step back from the blog to come back and appreciate it more, i have totally been there, we all have and there is no reason to apologize for stepping away for a bit

  13. I have so been this way lately. I absolutely love blogging, but sometimes the motivation isn't there like it has been. A day or two off helps me, but if I take too many off, I feel overwhelmed when I return. For me, when I am taking a day or two off with the posts, I like to amp up Instagram/Facebook usage so that there's still some reader interaction. You were missed this week! xo

  15. I feel you! I am always overwhelmed these days and with summer coming everything is spinning. The best way I know how to manage is to just take a day completley shut off to the social media world and rejuice my brain!

  16. I know exactly how you feel. I went from posting every day last year to every other day this year and still feel tired. LOL It's hard balancing it all and sometimes you feel guilty when you don't post or comment back right away. But you have to have time to enjoy life. So good for you in taking a break.

  17. I just started my blog and I truly underestimated the time and work involved to make a blog successful! I am working on my personal balancing act now but I'm so happy for you that you took a much needed break!! Good for you!! Glad to see that you are back!! I'm looking forward to your upcoming posts!!! Thanks so much for sharing. I really appreciate your honest post!
    xx. Michelle

  18. The lace detail on your shorts is adorbs. Hope you feel well rested! I have one word for balance: planner planner planner. I've always believed that setting aside time to plan saves time. Don't do what you can do without!

  19. Good for you for knowing when to take a break! Sometimes that is the hardest thing to do!

  20. yay for you taking a break love! you deserved it. to be honest, i dont balance everything, so no tips. i dont really have a social life haha. hope you get it all worked out!

  21. Glad to see you back. I think it's totally normal, understandable, all of it, to take a break. I am having a hard time right now balancing everything. Work has been a real PITA and sometimes you have to take 'you' time. Besides, distance sometimes makes the heart grow fonder!

  22. I was just thinking the same thing today. I work full time & blog full time and it can get a little overwhelming. And some days, after working until 7 cooking dinner and spending time with the hubs, I think the last thing I want to do is blog. But I mellow out for a few hours and actually find a desire to jump into it. I think the few hours of down time between work and blogging is crucial to me.... but it does leave me staying up until at least midnight every day. It helps if I can get all of my posts planned out and photos done on Sunday so I have less to do during the work week.
