So I have been kind of slacking on the whole reading book thing so this post should really be titled what I want to read vs what I'm actually reading. The list of books I have on my phone continues to grow and these are the books that are on top of that list - that I want to read ASAP.
The Secret Rooms tells the story about an aristocratic family in Britain before World War I (think family secrets with a dash of intrigue that takes place in a haunted castle) - apparently this is a must read for all Downtown Abbey fans. Oh and did I mention that this is a true story - I'm already hooked just by reading the summary!
Someday, Someday Maybe is written by Lauren Graham (from Gilmore Girls) which btw I didn't even know she was a writer, let alone a published one. My coworker who has given me some great book recommendations suggested this one to read and I cannot wait to start reading it. It's about a young actress trying to make it in the big city, all while trying to keep her sanity. Apparently it's laugh out loud funny which is right up my alley although it does illict some weird looks when I read in public.
The Engagements is the only book on this list that I am currently reading (I'm slightly more than half way done). It's a story about four different marriages in four different decades that are all connected in some way, interlaced with the story of diamonds in America. It does kind of make you wonder why we REALLY want diamonds (hint, it's all thanks to the power of advertising - and here I thought it was more romantic than that).
