  6. I think its good to do things we have to do like work, obligations... to give value to the things we like to do as reading, concerts, playing board games... Great post.

  7. I love reading too!! There is nothing wrong with curling up with a good book, a large glass of wine and some soothing music! I'm always hit or miss with concerts though!

  10. I've become much more of a homebody as I've gotten older and I love it - would much rather have a close group of friends over for a dinner party then go to a loud crazy bar lol! I'm the same way about laying out...like i really want to love it and I can for about an hour and then I get super bored!! Constant battle between wanting to be tan but not wanting to be bored haha!

  11. I love the honesty here! I'm quite the homebody myself now that I've gotten older (and by older I mean I'm just about to graduate from college, does that mean I aged too quickly on this? haha).

  13. This is a great post - I think we all can learn from this and start taking the time to enjoy the things we like to do more often!

  14. Love this! I'm a true bookworm and if I can spend the evening with some light music, a ice cold glass of wine and a juicy book I'm happy! Just started following your blog and would love if you'd follow me too :)

  15. You are so spot on. I've recently started re-reading my college textbooks because I just miss learning for the sake of learning. Great post love!

  16. As I've gotten older, I've learned to say no to the things I truly do not enjoy doing (within reason, of course!). Instead of going somewhere out of obligation or spending time with people whose company I'd rather not keep, I prefer to spend my rare free time doing what I love and spending it with loved ones! So follow your heart and blast that classical music! It's your life so live it to the fullest :)

  17. I'm a total concert girl, too. LOVE IT.

And loving to read books (with classical tunes + wine) is so cool! I need to get back into reading; I used to do it all the time (and loved it) and then just got busy and out of the habit of always having books on hand to pour over. :)

  18. Love this. I so agree - I really would rather spend a nice night in with good friends than out in a huge group!

  19. Your blog is seriously adorable- so glad you commented so I could discover it. :) I totally agree with you about spending more time doing what you love. I'm trying to find classes to take to learn new things- it's important to have time for yourself!

  21. I am the same way! I don't love to lay out (despite years of trying to convince myself I did), but I do love a good book and a board game! Also love "The Happiness Project." One of my all time favorite reads! Might be time to dust it off for another round! xo

  22. I have been trying to go to more concerts lately, but it's tough in CT, not a lot of good bands come this way and a lot of the cheap local places have really poor sound management (which means permanent ear damage, and that is no fun).

I also don't really like laying out, or laying around in general... I hate the feeling of a wasted day, unless it's raining, then it's okay to not leave the house and watch movies in PJs.

  23. I love to read books as well! Unfortunately, life got in the way and haven't read a book in a long time! I definitely need to make some time for it!

  24. Live each day to the fullest! We don't get those days back. Do something every day that YOU truly enjoy. Don't worry about anyone else. What matters is what puts a smile on your face.
