For me, the first half of January is always weird - the first few days are exciting with the new year then after that the "Holiday Blues" start to kick in. After a whirlwind Holiday season filled with trips, parties and shopping, an empty calendar in a freezing month just seems miserable. *Fun fact the Monday after New Years Day is called Blue Monday, since it's the most depressing day of the year - also it's the day the most divorces are filled #miserable.
To combat these Holiday Blues, my friends and I have been sending emails trying to fill our calendars with fun events (p.s. I just love group emails, they are a welcome distraction in the middle of a work day). I need eventson my calendar that are fun (and inside) because winter in DC is prettyyyy cold and for me to leave my cozy house and venture out into the cold, well it needs to be for something very enjoyable.
My friends and I already have a fun ski weekend planned (cannot wait to pull out my trapper hat for this), fun shows (bands not broadway, fyi) , and random dinners here and there. These plans make my Holiday Blues not nearly as bad and actually force me to get out of the house and have fun with my besties!
Do you get the Holiday Blues?? How do you combat them??
