I just like braidsbetter because they look so much more complicated than they actually (I mean, a fishtail is the easiest thing in the world but it looks pretty intricate). I feel like a ponytail is the exact opposite (a good one that is, not the ones that I tend to rock) - you need a good blowout followed by a lot of teasing and a gallon of texturizing spray to get the look. I don't know about you but when I have an updo in my hair, it's typically because I haven't washed it in 3 days and want the easiest look/not look super dirty I can pull off (try not to judge me too much - my hair is a pain to blowdry).
Obviously, I just had to prove my point that braids were so much better...but then I found some pretty freaking cute ponytails out there too. I'm still going to go with braids at the end of the day but a good ponytail is a nice look to switch it up occasionally. Plus you can never go wrong with lots and lots of teasing (see the last image below #obsessed).
