Are We Too Old to Play Dress Up?

With Halloween right around the corner (I basically only realize this because of the Hocus Pocus replays) I am beginning to think that I am told old to dress up - I cannot believe that this day has finally come!

Halloween used to be one of my favorite holidays - in college we would have the BEST (seriously, the best) parties for it with all of us in  fun costumes, but now I kind of feel told old to go all out for it every year.  This makes me feel ancient considering I used to go out 3 nights for it with 3 separate costumes.

I love dressing up in general (or at least adding some flare) not just for Halloween but for any random event, i.e. St. Patrick's Day, July 4th, Memorial Day, a random Saturday...you get the idea.  While I don't think I will ever grow out of adding a little flare to an outfit when needed (who doesn't love American flag denim shorts?!?) I think I'm just too old to dress up and create an elaborate costume for Halloween now, or any other event that requires this (a firefighter fundraiser does not mean I am required to dress up like one!) - I'm definitely saddest about not making and creating a costume than I am about wearing the actual costume...who knows I might miss it so much that I might singing a different tune next year.

This year I'm just going to be super boring and buy some silly accessories and call it a day for my  costume - worse comes to worse I'm sure I can make up a Kardashian costume last minute!
