BB Cream vs CC Cream…the question that has been on everyone’s mind - you know Kate Middleton was pondering this before she took these pictures.
As a makeup lover and product junkie, I have been seeing BB Cream and CC Cream everywhere…well Sephora and Blue Mercury, but that’s basically everywhere in the beauty world, right? Obviously I had to get in on the trend and got Supergoop's CC Cream – which I love, but I wonder – am I missing out by not using BB Cream? Clearly, I needed to do some research to solve this problem
Per my online research, which resulted in a full shopping cart at Sephora, I found that BB Creams originated in East Asia - for those who are geographically challenged like me, East Asia consists of China, Japan, North and South Korea, Mongolia, Taiwan, and Macau (I just had to throw a geography lesson in there to have with your morning blog reading). BB Creams tend to be slightly lighter than foundation and is quite a multi – tasker, as it is a moisturizer, primer, foundation and sunscreen.
CC Creams do everything that BB Creams do but they are kind of overachievers and focus more on Color Correcting (the CC stands for Color Control) . I personally use CC Cream on a daily basis, since my skin tends to be a little blotchy and this diminishes any redness.
Apparently there’s also DD Cream out there now…looks like a comparison on that will take place when EE Cream is invented. Until then, some of my favorite BB and CC Creams are:
